But before you go bidding on an auction there are a few things you should know about the auction and the item you are about to bid on. Xbox 360 refurbished, certified or not?

It's important to only bid on a Xbox 360 refurbished that has been certified by Microsoft. If the Xbox is not certified you could run into quite a few unexpected problems with the Xbox in the very near future.

Is the seal broken or still intact?

When you purchase a Xbox 360, refurbished or not it will always have a seal (or sticker) underneath the faceplate representing that the Xbox 360 has not been tampered with and still is still eligible for the factory warranty. Read the auction listing carefully to confirm the seal is still intact, if it's not stated on the auction go ahead and send the seller a question. If they are a reputable seller they will respond within 24-48 hours.

Do not under any circumstance buy a Xbox 360 that was repaired buy the auction seller or a local repair shop. Most of the non-certified Xbox repairs are not permanent and sometimes actually causes the Xbox to fail quicker than if it was just left alone.
